ZD FrameGrabber

ZD FrameGrabber is primarily designed for capturing multiple display outputs in the cockpit domain controller. It connects directly between the video source (cockpit domain controller) and the video display unit (screen), capturing video data and transmitting it to a PC via a 1 Gbit Ethernet interface. Additionally, it allows screenshots and video recordings to be saved to an SD card or USB storage device.
ZD FrameGrabber supports GMSL as the primary video input interface and outputs video in H.264/H.265 format. By replacing the sub-board, it can be expanded to support various interface protocols such as FPD Link 2/3. Furthermore, it features a web-based interface for quick hardware configuration, allowing users to set IP and port access, adjust GMSL operation parameters, crop specific display areas, and perform online firmware updates.

Application Range

In laboratory environments, cockpit automation testing often relies on cameras to capture video and images. However, camera-based capturing is highly affected by lighting conditions, leading to stability concerns. ZD FrameGrabber provides a more stable and reliable video capture solution, offering low latency, high bandwidth, and dynamic configurability, making it a powerful tool for automated cockpit domain controller testing.
Additionally, in multi-screen testing scenarios, such as instrument clusters and infotainment displays, ZD FrameGrabber can be seamlessly integrated into test benches. Combined with the ZD TAP testing platform, it enables enhanced automated testing capabilities for cockpit domain validation.
